Literally as we turned the calendar this month, Mother Nature and a cool front from Canada swept in over our plains and blessed us with the glorious weather we deserve after our record-setting, hotter than heck summer! What a difference 20 degrees make – it’s nearly chilly out in the mornings…but no one is complaining. Even the trees we thought had nearly died in the heat are putting on new fresh leaves…that’s due to the cooler night temps but mainly the cooler soil. We nearly baked everything alive this year…wow what a summer. Gardener’s are coming out of their air conditioned hiatus and gearing up for fall gardening – the very best time of the year to do nearly everything! Get these important chores done over the next two months and you will be rewarded with a beautiful Spring garden and a garden better prepared to survive our tough summer months.

Meet Terry Carlson
I was born into a nomadic family and moved to and from every corner of the U.S. from the time I was 3 years old. Some of my earliest memories are helping my mother transform a house into a home – working with what we had and by tapping into our inner creative, we were able to make our homes beautiful with little effort and no time at all.
Today, I love working with our clients to evolve their interiors as my husband and I build and renovate their homes. Creating comfortable and timeless interiors that are appropriate to the architecture and style of the home and the personality of our clients is a joy. Living with a Swede, I am sometimes chided about the American view on what we think Swedish, English and French design looks like. Working with my husband Anders on the design of custom one-of-a-kind homes and interiors keeps me busy and challenged – and my inner creative fulfilled and happy – Join me in finding your inner creative through this design blog.

Anders is from Sweden and moved to the U.S. in 1998. His experience and flair for design and construction results in beautiful, well-built homes which have a timeless yet unique style. He is especially gifted in kitchen and bathroom design, space planning and an overall integrated approach to residential construction, ensuring a wonderful end-result. He has a passionate and positive approach and strives to exceed our client’s expectations. He understands the importance of quality materials, finishes and construction with no short-cuts, but pays equal attention to every detail creating elegant and beautiful spaces.
